Mathematical Modelling of Relation between Economic Quantities
Žigárdy, Martin ; Hřebíček, Jiří (referee) ; Chvátalová, Zuzana (advisor)
My work is aimed on creating and on subsequent economical interpretation of mathematical models presenting relations of continual development of PX index (Czech stock index) and continual developments of five important world titles, which are price of the West Texas Intermediate Crude Oil barrel, exchange rate between Dollar and Czech Crown as well as Euro and Czech Crown and indexes DAX (German stock index) and Dow Jones (American stock index). The models are create by using regression analysis and by mathematical software Maple version 12
Oil as energy source
Maršík, Jaroslav ; Hrnčířová, Michaela (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis should give a complex overview about petroleum. The thesis is addressed especially for general public. It is divided into six parts; the first part describes a general introduction into how and where oil arises and what basic types exist. The second part focuses on oilfields; from their discovery through oil wells and their construction to extraction of oil. The third part deals with modes of transport and storage; so it was summed up in the topic The oil logistic. The fourth part describes an oil use, which we understand as an energy source. The fifth part summarizes the present meaning of oil and what oil is able to cause. And the last part is about oil future supplemented by the own comment.
Proces cenotvorby pohonných hmot: proces produkce a cenotvorby pohonných hmot ve výrobkové vertikále.
Němec, Vít
The bachelor thesis deals with the mapping and pricing of the entire fuels production and distribution process vertical. It seeks to describe the route of crude oil from its extraction to its distribution and refining, during which it is transformed into gasoline and diesel, and to trace the path of fuels to the final consumers. Subsequently, the pricing of fuels was examined in order to establish the relative proportions of the identified components that make up the price of fuels to the final consumer, i.e. the ratio of the oil prices, the tax burden and the costs of companies entering the fuel market. Finally, a statistical analysis of oil and fuel prices was carried out to find structural breaks in the time series, identify the cause of these breaks and determine the strength of the correlation between the oil prices and the fuel prices.
The influence of crude oil price fluctuations on macroeconomic stability in Nigeria
Onome, Nelson
The primary aim of this study is to evaluate the influence of crude oil price fluctuations on macroeconomic stability in Nigeria. The paramount importance of oil in the economic landscape of Nigeria cannot be overstated. Although numerous researchers have conducted studies on the correlation between oil prices and various macroeconomic variables, their outcomes have proven to be debatable and limited to specific countries. The current study's literature review and methodology serve to elucidate these perspectives. Secondary time series data was employed in an Autoregressive distributed Lag Model analysis. Our study revealed that variations in oil prices exert a considerable impact on Nigeria's actual Gross Domestic Product (GDP), unemployment rates, and rates of inflation. Adverse perturbations in the global petroleum market bear noteworthy ramifications on price undulations. The Nigerian economy is characterized by a marked increase in imports, which has unavoidably led to the amplification of inflationary pressures. A noteworthy reduction has been observed in government revenues and expenditures. It is advised that to attain sustainable development in Nigeria, a diversification of the economy and energy sources be pursued. The findings of this study also indicate that unstable oil prices have diverse degrees of detrimental impact on exchange rate fluctuation, inflation, unemployment, and real GDP. Based on the empirical evidence obtained from the conducted study, it is our scholarly recommendation that the nation ought to diversify its income streams. This would serve to mitigate the impact of perturbations in oil prices on the vulnerability of economic conditions. The reduction in undulating oil prices has highlighted the need for Nigeria's economy to explore alternative sources of revenue to minimize the over-reliance on crude oil exports. Avenues of focus for serious policy implementation include the reformation of the agricultural sector, industrial policy strategies, as well as critical investments in mining and mineral development. Such diversification endeavors can potentially drive the nation's economic growth trajectory in the long term. The implementation of this approach is anticipated to facilitate the attainment of sustainable growth and development in Nigeria.
Crude Oil Price Forecast based on Text News
Skalický, Jan ; Bojar, Ondřej (advisor) ; Žabokrtský, Zdeněk (referee)
For crude oil price forecast, there is a whole range of algorithms. In this thesis we bring out a new perspective on this issue and introduce our project COPF. Using a maximum entropy classifier, we try to predict the change in crude oil price from text information available on the Internet. We are taking advantage of the knowledge of experts in the field. As a part of the thesis, we tested and improved COPF precision. We have found out that this approach poses a lot of interesting problems. In the current state, the precision of our prediction surpassed the baseline but for further development, it is necessary to obtain more data sources. Our algorithm has never been regarded as a self-standing method but it may nicely complement numerical algorithms.
Vliv změny ceny ropy na ekonomiky
Peterka, Vít
Peterka, V. Oil price impact on economies. Bachelor`s thesis. Brno: Mendel Uni-versity in Brno, 2017. This paperwork is about the impact of oil price on compared economic indicators in chosen countries. Compares the evolution of economic indicator of chosen countries and verify dependence of these countries on oil price in period 2004 to 2015. It also tries to identify different political-economics solution attitudes to occurred situations. To analysis of data is used correlation analysis and trend removal method by HP filter. Using correlation analysis was defined a relation among oil price and economic indicators.
Vlivy změn cen ropy na směnné kurzy
Oberreiterová, Monika
The aim of this thesis is to verify the hypothesis that changes in oil prices have a significant impact on the real effective exchange rates. Vector autoregressive (VAR) model is used to empirically test this influence for monthly data from January 2001 to January 2016 in USA and the Russian Federation. The result was not proving significant impact on the REER. Oil price and REER have demonstrable impacts on total import and export of these countries.
Determinants of inflation in Ghana
Yao Ani-Frimpong, Selorm
The crux of this master thesis was to analyze if the inflationary trend in Ghana is a monetary phenomenon. Over the decades, numerous studies done on inflation in Ghana tend to converge on the postulation that money supply does exert some influence on inflationary trend. The argument has always been if money supply has a significant or less than significant impact on inflationary trend. Those for the argument that, the money supply has a less than significant influence buttress their points with how other factors such as fiscal policies, exchange rate, input cost, cost of imports affect inflation in the Ghanaian economy. Certainly these factors plus a host of others, based on investigations, were revealed to significantly influence inflation. In some studies, the influence of monetary factors was shown to have significantly eroded based on the time period used in the investigations respectively. This thesis thus set out to investigate both divides of the argument, whether inflation is still significantly affected by monetary factors or other factors are gradually casting their shadows over inflation. The other factors considered aside the monetary ones (broad money growth, monetary policy rate) for the thesis are exchange rate, GDP growth rate and crude oil price.
Dopady depreciace rublu na ruskou ekonomiku
Potapova, Tatiana
This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of the influence of rouble depreciation on the overall state of the Russian economy. The first part of the thesis explains the theoretical background, which relate to the mentioned problems. The thesis also describes and analyses the historical depreciation of selected currencies, including the rouble. The practical part analyses the pre-crisis development and the conse- quent impact of the exchange rate drop on the state economy, using the results of analyses of selected economic indicators, based on comparison analysis of the largest branches and enterprises, and based on the conclusions of the impact of the exchange rate depreciation on the economy.
